Alyssa Erickson

A 2002 graduate of Luther College in Sociology-Political Science, Alyssa Erickson thrived in the liberal arts atmosphere, making it her goal to attend every lecture and performing arts event held on campus. Alyssa was selected by her classmates to receive Luther’s Jenson Medal as the graduating senior who best demonstrated the ideals of the college through service to students and the college community.

After graduation, Alyssa joined Americorps and worked in community organizing for several years. She then held a variety of positions and internships in the public and non-profit sectors, including working a legislative session at the Minnesota Senate and serving as St. Catherine University’s Social Justice Coordinator.

Alyssa completed her master’s degree in Geographic Information Science from the University of Minnesota in 2010. As a graduate student, she worked with the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs, where she created maps and provided GIS services to local neighborhood and non-profit organizations. Alyssa used data from the decennial Census extensively in her research, including using spatial regression analysis to investigate the distribution of affordable housing in the Twin Cities. As the newest member of Hardwick-Day’s team, Alyssa anticipates applying her skills in geographic analysis and map-making to her work with clients.
